Hi, my name is Beatrice Archer and I am a junior at the Bear Creek School in Redmond Washington. I developed a love for the sport early on thanks to my Dad, he introduced me to golf at around eight years old, and I’ve enjoyed playing ever since with both family and friends. I began taking it more seriously just before middle school around 6 years ago. Golf has helped me grow as an athlete and continues to help shape my mental outlook on life. It has helped me to have confidence and trust in myself, to understand the importance of learning from failure, and the need to continue to strive for success. Even if I am not able to do my best I always walk away with a feeling of happiness and enjoyment in the sport. In my first year in varsity girl's golf, I was the one-girl team for our school but went on to play at the Emerald City League, Bi-districts, and State Championship. At WA State, despite being only a freshman player, I qualified in the top 40 and finished at 17th place. Sophomore year school golf was awash due to covid. This year, Junior year we had a team of 12 girls and I was honored to be team captain, it was awesome to be able to grow the team, to share the joy of golf, and to mentor and encourage newer players.
Aside from golf, I go to The Bear Creek School, which is a nationally and locally recognized leader in providing a Christian liberal arts education and is known for its rigorous academic work. With a 3.62 GPA, I can balance both athletics and schoolwork. I have the confidence and drive to continually achieve a high academic standard and enjoy my athletic career.
