I'm excited thinking about all the possibilities that the start of my college career will bring. Whether it's a major in International Business, Business Management or Engineering, I know that I want to work toward my Pilot's License and incorporate that into my career plan. I'm looking forward to combining Baseball with these 4+ years and excited with all the opportunities that being part of a top-notch athletic program will open up for me.
I've always looked at new challenges as a great opportunity to grow, something that should be embraced rather than avoided. Being content can lead to a level of comfort watching people pass you by - in life, in education and in athletics. New opportunities always bring new challenges. I've prided myself on being a student of the game, understanding not only the x's and o's of baseball, but growing a comfort level with the intangibles of the game. I've realized that the more open to coaching I am, the more I am able to adapt to the faster game and stronger opponent. I've prided myself on being a player that can embrace coaching and instruction and, through countless repetition, refine my skill sets to continue to play at the highest level.
I've always understood that baseball is an unfair game. Practice and conditioning can only go so far in baseball; there comes a time when all the showcases and statistics need to translate into not only being a stand-out player on the field, but an invaluable piece of a team striving for a single goal. My work ethic and ability to be a leader both on and off the field help me do just that.
