Melany Altamirano '23 Recruiting Profile

A "good candidate" for a team is someone who has clear goals in mind, but what makes them a "great candidate" is a person who puts in the work for their goals. I believe I am a great candidate for your team. I saw that in my high school, our team was seen as less than by the other coaches and even the principal. I took matters into my own hands, and sat down with the Principal and discussed the amount of time we would have in the gym, and how much money should be invested into our team, ex: new mats, boulders, etc. I joined my high school STUNT team my freshmen year, and as a current senior on my team, my drive and determination is recognized by my coaches and teammates, as I am the current Captain Flyer on my team. As I continue to grow and learn with my team, I am also guiding them and putting in my best efforts to demonstrate determination and resilience. I am able to work with my Co-Captain, my coaches, and my teammates to create a welcoming environment on my team, and would be bringing this same positive attitude to your team.
