I currently live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada but I’m an American citizen and I’m hoping to move back the US to go to university and play field hockey.
I started playing when I was 10 years old, just looking for an activity to do with my friends during the off-season of ringette, but field hockey quickly became one of my favorite sports. I still play basketball and ringette; and both sports have made me a better field hockey player and well-rounded athlete. Outside of field hockey, I keep good grades and I’m very involved in school activities including Debate and Drama. I’m considering studying Law or Teacher Education in University.
In, 2017 I made the U-15 Provincial team as an underage player and have always been a participant in the High Performance group. In the same year I took some umpiring courses and started to umpire games, which taught me a lot about field hockey and helped give me the confidence to try coaching. In 2018 I took on my first role as a head coach for a U-12 team. In addition to coaching and umpiring I also played on a U-14 and U-18 team so I am very busy and fully committed to the sport and our community.
My coaches say that I’m an intelligent play maker that likes to make the perfect pass but isn’t afraid to shoot the ball when I have a chance. I really like to hear that and I work hard to live up to that description. I love to support and be a part of a team and I’m a fun, loyal, coach-able and hard-working teammate who always puts the team first.
