In 2018, I was the provincial Alberta champion in the 100m and 2nd in the 200m, and this year, having had a broken foot and only a month to train before, I finished 12th overall at Canadian nationals in both events. I am also a multi athlete, playing hockey most of my life on the AAA level. My parents are the most influential part in my life, telling me that I can always achieve my goals if I work hard for it. Originally, I was doubtful about joining a track team in 2016, but eventually, I found my passion for the sport and now I love what I do. Over the years of my track career, I have learned more about myself as well as my physical well being, and how crucial it is to have a well balanced diet, to be stretching, and communication between the athlete and coach.
Some of my goals I would like to achieve in the future is to become the Canadian national champion in the 100m and 200m, qualify for NACAC for team Canada, and be recruited to a college in the United States, where I can further pursue my passion in athletics and academics. I will also mention that I have been honor roll for the past 4 years in school, taking most classes in Advanced Placement learning. I would be a great fit on a college team because not only am I always determined to get better, I am a good listener and learner, and I am willing taking in new knowledge to become the best athlete I can be. I believe that with my focus and work ethic, I have what it takes to get to the next level, both athletically and academically.
