My field hockey career began in second grade when I knew that I wanted to take part in an athletic activity, but all other sports just didn't click like field hockey did. No one in my family has ever played field hockey so after my half-brother Dean introduced it to me, it took all of us quite a bit of time to learn the rules and understand tactics of such a complex game. However, in my nine years of playing, this sport has given me so much more than I could have ever imagined. I learned how to thrive and contribute in a team environment, set goals for myself, self-motivate and self-discipline, and realize how lucky I am to have discovered my true passion in life at such a young age and be able to pursue it for years to come.
I am proud to be able to say that I have maintained a 4.0 unweighted GPA throughout middle and high school (current sophomore) and wish to be able to continue my academic endeavors at a great college/university, while still being able to play on a competitive field hockey team. I cannot imagine life without playing field hockey and experiencing the sheer joy of stepping on a pitch and simply doing what I love the most. I am focused, responsible, and hard-working, and would be honored to take part in your program!
