Goal: Getting down to a 52 in 100 backstroke, 1:57.00 in 200 backstroke, and 52.00 in 100 butterfly junior year.
I am a good candidate because I am always striving to beat myself and others. I want to improve and that is why I have large goals cause I know I can always do better. I am a team player and will always cheer on my fellow teammates, but when time comes to race I focus on beating everyone: even myself.
I am different from other recruits because outside of school I don't just swim. I take parts in visual arts, like doing programs at Temple, Tyler School of Art. I was also selected to go to NYU and UCLA art summer programs which were portfolio entries. I also paint on my free time, like making portraits from oil painting. Recently I have built my own art studio in my basement to progress my art abilities. I used to sing in a group at my school called the Mastersinger. We are a elite group of singers who compete in competitions. My freshman year we went to Rome, and my sophomore year we went to NYC and sang at Carnegie Hall. However junior year I left because swimming was conflicting with time scheduling and I picked swimming over the group. Academically my grades have increased where I have a 3.86 for semester 1 of junior year and a 4.0 for semester 2. I've also held 4 summer jobs since the age of 14 working from coffee shops to retail stores.
I was recently selected to be an Assistant Swim Coach for the Special Olympics in Delaware Spring 2020, sadly it was cancelled yet I got one practice it. Every year I volunteer at the Methodist Church in Rehoboth during Thanksgiving and I am part of the DCCC (Delaware County Citizens Corps) helping with corona. I am taking college credit classes at Delaware County Community College for Summer I, these classes are American National Government and Macro-Economics. I am a poly-sci major just to learn about government since I do want to be a lawyer. Yet in college I want to double major in visual arts and another major. I am also signed up for Summer 2 college class's yet don't know what I am taking yet,
