Personal Statement

My name is Cassidy Leger, and I am part of the class of 2025 at Bellingham High School. I have been playing field hockey since I was 6. I started out by doing a camp over the Summer of Kindergarten. I fell in love with the sport the second I picked up my first stick. I started playing for the middle school travel team in 4th grade. I have been on my high school’s varsity team since 8th grade. I currently play defense for both my high school team, and my club team, but I also have experience as a midfielder. After the Fall high school season, I participate in Summer and Winter leagues with my high school teammates, and I play for Premier Field Hockey Club in the Winter, Spring, and Summer. Along with playing softball, I do lots of conditioning, lifting, running,  and other training during the off-season to stay in shape for field hockey. I love to go to my high school turf field in my free time to sharpen my skills, and learn new ones. I have spent countless hours watching and studying college and international field hockey games, hoping that one day that could be me playing on those fields. My dream has always been to continue my journey with field hockey after high school by playing in college, and possibly even further if I were to get the opportunity. I would also love to become a coach someday so I can pass on my love and passion for field hockey to other young players.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
