Throughout my life, I have struggled with a learning disability that hindered my experience in school. I have always felt as though, in school, dyslexia defined me, but each day I remembered looking forward to playing sports. Sports has always been something that helped me relax and allowed me to be myself. It has always been my passion, playing many sports over the years. During my freshman year, I decided to play field hockey and instantly fell in love with the sport. A highlight of my career was this past season when our team made it to the semi-finals. It was an amazing learning experience and has fueled me to push myself even further in my Senior year.
I have learned so much through my high school career, especially from my coach. She has been an amazing leader, teacher, and mentor to me in many ways. She has taught me that being successful on and off the field requires poise and determination. I am looking for a school that will best fit me academically and athletically. I feel as though continuing with field hockey in college will help me grow even more as a person and a player, and I believe I will be an amazing asset to your team.
