As always, academics come first. My academics are very strong as I am extremely studious, thorough and attentive. Although I am not the student to raise their hand first, I take my time to gather my thoughts in order to create a well-constructed and thoughtful response.
I differ from other recruits in character because I have a growth mindset. I am always asking coaches for ways to improve so I can learn from my mistakes. I look forward to being on the field, and I often stay after practice to work on specific skills I need to improve. I am also a good learner, cooperative, respectful and determined. My strengths as a field hockey player are that I am quick, flexible (in terms of positions) and have good stick skills. I am additionally focused and always hustling—both in practice and in games. Most importantly, I am very supportive of my teammates: I cheer them on and encourage them to challenge themselves. Through field hockey, I have learned that communication is of utmost importance, hard work rewards you in the end, and good sportsmanship goes a long way.
In college, I am looking forward to being a student-athlete, making new friends, getting a great education, and expanding my thinking.
