Samantha Helmer '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Samantha Helmer, I am a Junior, class of 2023, at Central Valley Academy located in Ilion New York.  I am a primary midfielder, secondary defender, for the varsity field hockey team at Central Valley, and have been a part of this team since being brought up my freshman year, as well being named captain and First Team Tri Valley League All-Star this past season.  In addition to this, I participate in club field hockey year-round, as part of the U-19 CNY RAGE team.  We compete nationally in various tournaments to gain the utmost experience, from local tournaments to nation club championships.  I fell in love with the sport of field hockey when I recognized the level of competition and athletic ability it provides. As I begin the task of looking into, and planning my future, I have determined that I am interested in both advancing myself academically and athletically, as I take the next step into college. Holding confidence in both my field hockey skills, and academic capability, I'm hoping to provide myself as a well-rounded competitor for a respected field hockey program and group of coaches.
