Maggie Cass '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a rising High School Junior, with a passion for Field Hockey.  I have been playing since I was 10 years old.  I currently train with my club team - NC Fusion Field Hockey 2 -3 times a week.  I play both Field Hockey and Lacrosse for my High School teams.  

I like to work hard to see improvement in my skills, whether it be shooting around with a friend, running drills with my team, or attending clinics.  Seizing every opportunity I am able to and learning from many different players and coaches has greatly improved my skill level.   My goal is to continue growing in the sport and my position and playing college field hockey.  While I know there will always be athletes that are more gifted, stronger or faster than me, that drives me to work harder on the field and training.  I believe that it is important to have strong relationships with my teammates, encouraging them and helping to create an environment of loyalty and integrity.  Understanding TEAM goals and working together to achieve those goals as a team is very important to me.  I strive to approach life with the highest integrity while remaining positive and humble no matter what situations I'm faced with. 

 I am interested in a career in the Health Sciences, and am on a Health Sciences Career Tract in High School.  I am currently taking Honors and AP classes and have found a good balance between academics and athletics, all while maintaining a 4.27 GPA.   

I am actively involved in Key Club, Junior Classical League, and Crosby Scholars at school, National Honors Society, as well as volunteering as a Virtual Tutor and Mentor to a local middle school student.  I am a Certified Life Guard and work at my local YMCA as a guard as well as swim instructor.  I enjoy seeing the progress young children make during my time working with them in the pool.
