I have been playing football since the age of 3 years old. Since I was a child, I was aspired to play at the collegiate level, starting with the encouragement of my family. I am aware that playing in college is an experience of a lifetime and I feel with the talents that I possess, I can reach that goal. Playing ball in college is not only my personal goal, but my family’s goal as well. I share the same aspirations and dreams as them.
I have a strong football IQ. My strongest attribute to the team will have to be my speed, agility , rout running and manual dexterity. I have also played multiple sports such as basketball and baseball. Each sport has taught me many lessons that have helped me not only on the field and court but in life as well. I am very coachable and take constructive criticism well. I lead by example and assist my team and coaches in every way to help them succeed. I can adapt to my surroundings very well and I’m humble because of my up-bringing.
I am a team leader. Especially in football, it is a brotherhood that has a place of belonging. I believe everyone on the team is sharing and attributing towards the same goal all while doing different things to achieve that. We sorely depend on each other. I was selected as MVP for my 13U pylon and Freshman teams.
Growing up, I was taught that playing sports was a privilege. Playing sports is life for me and in order to keep doing what I love, I had to show what I can do in the classroom as well. “If you can’t show us good grades and keep up with your school work, you can’t play” is what my parents engraved into me… that’s why I take schooling and my academics very seriously.
They always told me, “If God forbid you‘re unable to play sports anymore for whatever reason, what is one thing you can always fall back on??? It’s your knowledge, education and what you know. That is what NO ONE can take away from you!” So I live with that mantra everyday.
I study hard in the classroom maintaining my 3.5 GPA but I always try to strive higher.
I want to go to a college that will push me in the classroom and on the football field. I am open to all options and ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition.
I strive to become a great role model for myself, my community and for my family.
