My team is like my second family. Whether it's old members or new ones, no one gets left behind. West Indians are mostly known for Cricket and soccer, but you never really see any of us up on the board as football players. Aside from athletics and academics, character would place me aside from other recruits. Some people sign up for the fame or cause they think it's cool. Football is a way for me to escape. The moment I stepped foot into my first game I felt like I meant something. The feeling of winning drives me.
I'll push myself on and off the field. Every miss step or miss block drives me to push harder. People continue to say, " there's always gonna be someone better than you." But right now, the only person better than me is me tomorrow. My aspirations are to make it somewhere and to be somebody, whether that be on the field or in the class room. People ask me, " why do you play the game?" and my answer is always the same. It's more than just a game in my heart.
