My name is Michael Noone and I am currently a Senior in the class of 2016. I am 6'3 and 300 pounds, and I play DT and NG, OT/OG. I enjoy playing both sides of the ball. I am from Staten Island in NYC and play for my high school, St. Peter's Boys. After my Junior season I was named to the Second Team All-NYC Defense, as one of only two Juniors named for defense overall. I am also an All-NY State Honorable Mention, again as one of two Juniors named for the Defensive Line. Also, I am a Staten Island Advance All-Star. My team and I had a great year last year, ending with a 9-1 record after an undefeated regular season. Unfortunately we came up short in the playoffs, with a loss in the Semi-finals. We compete at the highest level in our league, the NY CHSAA AAA division. This season we are 4-1 overall, 3-1 in league play(NYCHSFL AAA), so far.
Academically, I have always been a hard worker and achieved good grades. I have been enrolled in my high school's Scholar Academy all four years. I took the only AP course available to me, AP US History. I have a career average of 99.8 My scholar classes are weighed. Most recently I was ranked 6 in my class out of around 130. I am not totally sure what I want to study in college yet, but I am academically well-rounded and have an open mind still. My SAT- 2 part was 1380, and ACT 30. I've achieved First Honors every year so far. In college, I look forward to being able to play football and do school work, although I know it will be a challenge. I think I am up to it.
I also played one year of JV Football and 2 years of JV Basketball. Before High School, I played CYO basketball and AAU Basketball. I won the Staten Island and NYS CYO shot put Track and Field event, and placed 8th in the Nationals for shot put and discus, representing Team NY(CYO), in Orlando, FLA.
A 3 year starter on the Varsity Football team, I am starting to embrace a bigger leadership role with my teammates. After coming off a very successful season last year, I will not be satisfied with anything less my senior year. I will push my peers on and off the field this season in order to accomplish great things as a team.
In college, I hope to have the chance to be apart of a successful program and a great school. I definitely do not mind earning my own playing time, and first learning from the older players. Being able to learn from those who come before you is an invaluable tool in bettering yourself as a player and person.
