All my life, I've been back and forth between basketball and football. I've played both sports since I was 3 years old. My parents have played a major role into shaping me into the young man I am today. My dad has really set an example for me and making me into a man. I help him around the house and outside and he gives me little life lessons that add up and help shape me and how I look at things. My mom has taught me a lot. She's always told me and pretty much imprinted into me academics over everything and I'm all for it. She's the one who helps me in school when I have problems and helps motivate me to become better. My 15 year old brother even helped shape me into who I am today. Without him, I honestly wouldn't be the guy I am today. He is my motivation, the reason I want to be great. He pushes me each and everyday to become a better brother, leader, and role model.
At the age 3, football was more of a 2nd sport to me. Basketball was the sport that had most of my attention. But my sophomore year, when I played my last game on JV, I had the best game of my life. 3 touch downs and 118 yards. That's when I realized football was sport. I grew and got my muscle up. And that's when my wide receiver coach and former players told me I was looking great. Playing this sport, I've realized that nothing comes easy. You have to work for what you want. And that you're only as strong as your weakest link. And that saying is something I go about everyday in my 4th period weight training class with both upper and lower classmen. The guys that might not think that they are good enough, I motivate them and do the workout with them to show them that I've got their back and that we are just as strong as they are. And that we are a family and we do everything together.
In high school my academic goals are to always earn straight A's. So far I've achieved that goal. I also want to become a better man and take what I learn in school and apply it out in the real world. In college I want to graduate with my engineering degree. I want to grow and mature and be a goo example to my little brother so he can follow in my footsteps. All my life, I've been doubted and never been a superstar on any team I've played on. Nobody has believed in me but my parents. I didn't believe in myself either until the end of my junior year. That's when I started working even harder than ever. My confidence has grown a lot since sophomore year. All the haters and doubters are the reason I am who I am today.
God blessed me to be natural gifted with talent. I excel at anything I do. But that doesn't stop me from working . I can always improve my craft and get better. College will help shape me into the man I want to become. I know that I will make your team better at the college level.
