I began playing football in elementary school with a local league, and I fell in love with the sport- the competitiveness, the physicality and the camaraderie with my fellow players and coaches. However, it wasn't until high school that I began kicking, and I found my true connection to the sport. I appreciate the art of kicking and its value to each and every game. My strength is the placement of the ball with each kick, and I continue to improve my distance and hang time. I have had some challenges getting my teammates to respect my work as a kicker, but I take being part of the team seriously and I always do what I can for the team.
Academically, my junior year has been great. I have always been a very good student but my interest really took off during my Anatomy and Body Systems courses. I finally really connected to my studies and found a calling for sports and exercise science. I can combine the science of the human body with my love of sports and exercise.
I believe I will be a great asset to your football team and your academic institution. My positive attitude and work ethic will propel me to great things at the next stage of my life. I am willing to do the hard work necessary to reach my goals.
