I love the competition and challenge of kicking for the football team. My teammates and I work hard toward excellence. Football is one of the hardest sports and requires intentional effort and determination to be successful. If a coach tells me to focus on developing a technique then I practice toward making the adjustments necessary. I like knowing the plan on how I can achieve my goals and I strive to take the appropriate steps toward making progress.
As a triathlete, I've been around many athletes and athletic events. All are challenging, football is not only physically challenging but mentally as well. I did not grow up kicking footballs, mostly because nobody ever talked to me about it, but I was determined to prove I had the skills to kick once I started. I started kicking my sophomore year, I do the place kicking and kickoffs for my team. My highlight so far for high school football was kicking the game winner with 41 seconds left in the game. The Coaches were very pleased with my composure being that was my first year of kicking ever. My coach says that "I listen". When asked to work on specific skills or to work on changing a strategy I put into practice what I've been asked to do.
