I am extremely excited about the opportunity I have to continue my academic and athletic careers at the next level. With the help of my coaches, my family, and my many mentors, I have been provided with wonderful examples of what it means to be a member of a team, to be a leader, and to be a positive contributing member of a community. With the help and examples of al of these important individuals, l have been given the opportunity to develop and continue to develop as a young man, and I believe I have the tools and support I need to be successful in both academics and football at an elite level within the college ranks.
Through family, church, and my time on the football field competing and working with teammates and coaches, I have been able to realize much of my potential as a person, student, and athlete, and I will continue to improve through hard work, training, and single-minded determination.
My journey with football began in 6th grade watching the highschool varsity games and seeing those players beat the crap out of their opponent and enjoy doing it, and from then on I knew I wanted to do the same – but better. Football has allowed me to discover that I have unlimited potential as a person and an athlete, I can’t wait to see how that hard work and being a member of a college team and having access to new mentors will help me continue to grow as a person.
Once on campus, I plan to pursue a degree that develops a career path as an airline pilot or as a software engineer and developer. I enjoy the technology involved in both professions, and I have already begun to take steps toward realizing these goals. I have completed private pilot ground school and plan to start my private pilot flight training this summer through a program at Guyer High School. I have also taught myself how to build, upgrade, program, and customize my own high-end gaming computer.
I have overcome several challenges the past two years including injuries that limited my playing time and personal challenges requiring focus, discipline and faith to overcome, and I have overcome every challenge I have faced. Hard work, determination, and support from family and coaches all have played a role in helping me overcome and thrive. I plan to continue to face challenges and overcome them throughout my life.
Paying football at the college level and and being a part of your program will bring about new opportunities, challenges, and experiences that will further develop me as a person and player, and allow me the experience and satisfaction that can only come from being a member of a team and helping that team and every member of that team be successful.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile and to read this personal statement. I look forward to the opportunities in store, and I look forward to being a member of your team.
Sincerely,
Jacob Fritz
