I do not have the typical story that starts with running track since I was six or seven years old. I began running the very well known sport of track when I was in the eighth grade.I did it just for fun, I thought my main sport was basketball. I instantly found myself being very successful and fell in love with running and the sport of track. I love the sport because it has taught me so much, and has created life long friendships and memories.
I am beginning to learn that mind over matter is a real thing. There is always the option to just give up , or to push harder. When you realize your own strength, have high confidence and determination can always keep you going regardless being sports or just life in general. Finding motivation within yourself is the hardest thing but once it's found you can become the strongest person.
I have been able to overcome a 2 year long foot injury and I’m finally running my senior season. This year I changed my race from just the 400 to all relays and the 200. I am a very uplifting teammate and always want to support and encourage my teammates as much as possible. I believe that a strong team bond and team chemistry creates a great atmosphere to train and compete in. My personality allows me to take criticism and turn that into fuel to make myself better than I was the day before. This ultimately makes me a very coachable athlete and also a very hands on learner in and outside of the classroom. I strive for nothing but greatness on and off the track and believe it is necessary to give your all in everything you do.
I maintain my grades in the classroom and keep a high GPA. Along with track and school I also have a job that keeps me on top of my social skills and other life skills needed in this world in order to survive. Balancing all this is difficult at times but at the end of the day I know that it is going to make me the best version of myself possible. I hope to compete at the collegiate level and continue my track journey and academics. I am open to all opportunities that I am given and receive. I hope to ultimately find the perfect school that allows me to be myself while still giving me the best opportunities, academically and athletically. With all this considered I strive to become a strong, confident, and successful athlete.
