My name is Richard Angerstein, but I go by Alex, and I am a 5'9" 175 pound upcoming senior outside linebacker/slot receiver at Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Hallettsville, Texas. While I may be a smaller guy, I make up for it in my knowledge of the game and ability to read an offense. I watch a lot of film in order to pick up on teams' tendencies, recognize formations, and to just generally be a couple steps ahead of my competition mentally. I'm a team player who tries to lead by example by being one of the hardest working and smartest guys in the room. I'm not only willing to put in extra time in the weight room, field, and classroom, but enjoy doing so as I believe the only way to get ahead of your competition is to out work them. I aspire to continue my academic and athletic careers at the college level and am looking forward to bettering myself in order to achieve this goal of mine.
I am also very passionate about baseball. I am extremely versatile as I play shortstop for my high school team, but have experience at second base, third base, and the outfield. I usually bat leadoff because I hit for average, bunt very well, have stolen upwards of fifteen bases in all three years of my high school career, and have a quick swing that gets to the ball. In respect to baseball, I pride myself on having extremely good range and finding ways to get on and around the bases. If the opportunity would present itself, I would be more than happy to play football and/or baseball at the college level. Either way I just want a shot at playing at the next level, no matter the means.
