Robert Pennel '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6’0, 160 lbs. junior guard from West Dundee, IL with a 4.0 GPA.  I was a starter on the varsity team and a peer-elected captain as a junior. Also, I was nominated by the basketball coaching staff to represent the program at the annual Fox Valley Leadership Conference.  


I’ve known that basketball will be a big part of my life ever since I was a three-year-old dribbling with two hands.  I was a quiet kid in elementary school and basketball helped me to find my voice and provide an outlet for my emotions.  It has become my love and my passion because it's helped me to learn teamwork, leadership, perseverance, and commitment.


I am proud of both my academic and athletic achievements and want to find a school with the right balance between the classroom and the court.  I am open to different size schools and geographic locations. My goal is to play in an athletic environment where I can make an immediate impact on the team while having the opportunity to learn in a challenging academic environment. Being a student-athlete will help me develop critical skills that will serve me throughout my entire life.
