T'Jae Montgomery '23 Recruiting Profile

I have always loved the game of basketball and have had a ball in my hand since childhood. I'm a strong shooter, a strong ball handler, play lock down defense, and am a team player who consistently makes winning plays. I understand the game and play hard on both ends of the court. I understand the importance of the individual roles each person plays, but also know the impact of coming together collectively as a team. My positive attitude and ability to always provide encouragement and motivation to my team members both on and off the court has allowed me to gain the respect of my former coaches and team members. I am constantly trying to improve by spending countless hours in the gym putting up shots and by working on my body through strength and conditioning. I have attended various basketball camps, training programs, and have played AAU throughout high school.  

As a student I push myself academically and have consistently maintained a high GPA throughout my entire academic career. I have been inducted into the Rho Kappa Social Studies National Honor Society, have taken multiple honors classes each year, am a three time recipient of the Scholar Athlete Character Award, and two time recipient of the Chick-fil-A All-Academic Team Award for having the highest GPA on my varsity basketball team. I have performed community service for a variety of different community organizations and have volunteered at youth basketball camps for the past four years, including the one conducted at my high school every summer.

In college I plan to major in Physical Therapy or Exercise Science and want to continue my academic career while also playing basketball. I am confident that my dedication to academics and athletics will continue to be proven, and I believe I would be an asset to any college and collegiate basketball team if awarded the opportunity.
