I have always set my goals high because I know with hard work and dedication I can achieve them. I'm looking for a school that will challenge me to be a better human being on and off the court and grow with me throughout the time I'm with them. I am hoping to have professors and coaches that share this vision with me because enough hard work can amount to anything in life. I started basketball much later then other kids my age in 7th grade and I ended up not making the cut for the JV team at my junior high. I hated that feeling so much so I got in the gym everyday and worked hard on the basics and built myself up. Then I went from being a 8th grade starting point guard, to a Freshman player starting on Sophomore, and then to a Sophomore starting on Varsity. This was the most amazing feeling, to see something big come from the work I put in. My name is Joey Dooley, I am a 5'11 combo guard, class of 2023, and varsity starter for the next two years. On offense I'm working to perfect my craft on all 3 levels of the court, taking immense focus into my footwork, consistency, and balance, and on defense I'm working on growing my IQ for the game, Help side defense, and how to quickly adjust to all roles in a zone. Thus far, in my educational journey I have received a 2.9 throughout high school. My plans at this stage in life are to graduate my senior year at Westmont High School and attend a four-year university where I will continue my studies majoring in education, focusing on Special Education.
