Peter Nels Birkeland '20 Recruiting Profile

A big thing that has brought me to where I am is the competitiveness I’ve had with my friends and teammates. When ever I have time in school or out of school, I like to get shots up with classmates, friends, and coaches. Since I was about three I loved the game of Basketball. The first experience I remember is going to my brother's practices and dribbling a ball off to the side of the court. 

Playing the game for a while has taught me a lot. I’ve learned that I’m a good leader, I’m smart on and off the court, and that I’m a good problem solver. My major academic goal that I have set for myself is to make the high honor roll at my school, which is a 3.4 GPA. I hope to attend a business school, hopefully with accounting or a school with economics.  

An obstacle that I’ve had to overcome is that I’ve had to deal with some players who haven’t taken the game seriously or at least as serious as I do. I feel like that has made me patient, competitive, leader, loyal, and hard-working. In my career I’ve had to play both guard positions, both forward positions, and be a key defender.
