My name is Thisara Hewavitharana. I am captain of my high school varsity team where I play point guard and shooting guard. I am also an AP/honors student. My goal is to find a basketball program that is fit for me. I am very well known for my shooting, ball handling, and speed. As a guard who has to control the pace of the game and constantly change speeds, I have developed an extremely strong stamina, which has made me an excellent off ball player as well. Though being a scorer is one of my top assets, I will always make the best decision for the team as a whole. As a high IQ point gaurd, I love strategizing and leading my teammates on the court. I am a firm believer of teamwork and have a true love for the game. I am a very coachable player and have the ability to learn and adapt quickly. I am looking for an encouraging coaching staff with a proactive attitude. Adversity of all kinds has refined my skills and made me an extremely versatile player. I believe that working smart and hard is the key to my success.
