Playing on the Varsity Basketball team as a Freshman and Sophomore was an incredible honor and experience. Competition at that high level helped me improve both mentally and physically. It also showed me how much harder I was going to have to work in future years. This valuable experience was after I broke my wrist during my 8th grade year, as I tried out for the Junior Varsity team. Being able to watch my teammates throughout that season as I healed was difficult, but ultimately prepared me mentally to work harder, and set my goals higher to contribute on the Varsity team.
Having a love for the game of basketball since I was in 7th grade, I've already noticed that basketball is not just about the game, but about the relationships that I've made with teammates, coaches, and parents. This life lesson has given me a confidence to be the best player and teammate that I can be during my high school years and beyond. Academically, my passion for Mathematics and English have consistently been a strength of mine throughout my schooling. In the future, I would like to make sure that these subjects are a part of what I want to focus on, at whatever I decide to major in. Whether it be on the court, or in the classroom, I strive to be a great person who has integrity, character, and passion for whatever crosses my path. Bringing these talents that I have to a school that values these same characteristics is very important to my family and I.
