Basketball has helped shape my life to this point. I started playing competitively at the age of 6. I remember that my dad helped pick the teams when I played in the local recreation league in second and third grade, and I remember being mad at him because it always seemed like my team was the least talented. However, I realize now that losing at that age helped me much more than winning.
My first few years of AAU ball, I played with a local team. I really enjoyed playing with friends from school, but I believe that branching out and playing with Team Xplosion in Bristol, VA has been vital to my growth as a player. Playing against teams from cities such as Atlanta, New York and Pittsburgh made me realize that I had a lot of work to do if I wanted to compete at the college level.
I am dedicated to the sport, and I believe that the work ethic that I have developed will not only benefit me as a player but also as a person.
