I had an amazing AAU season going into my sophomore year, my grades had ended with me being placed in all advanced classes so things were really looking good for me until a pretty devastating injury sidelined me. I broke my ankle, tore my meniscus, and had a minor tear in my ACL which required surgery to repair my ankle with a plate and some screws. The doctors didn’t believe I would recover in time to make it back for the season.
As soon as I was able to bare weight on my ankle, I started intense physical therapy along with going to the gym and weight room on my own time. Along this journey, I realized with hard work and dedication, I could accomplish anything that I set my mind too. Three months after my surgery I was cleared to play the game I love multiple months before any of the doctors believed I would be able too.
