Hello Coaches, my name is Ajit Ganatra. I am a starting 6'2" point guard/ shooting guard currently playing for both Burlington Force U18 and Nelson High School, based in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. I am self-motivated to learn and improve my skills, both academically and in athletics. Academics are extremely important to me, and I hope to earn a degree in either Business or Engineering, or a combination of the two. In terms of basketball, my work ethic is unmatched amongst my teammates. Past and present coaches have highlighted my coachability as one of my significant strengths. In my position as point guard, I am a vocal leader who leads by example and effort. I am disciplined, respectful of teachers and coaches, and view criticism as a way to improve.
Ironically, I am certain that the COVID-19 pandemic has actually helped to strengthen my game/ shooting. During the lockdown periods, I established a daily, 2 hour shooting routine with an emphasis on mid range and 3 point shooting variations/ drills. For the last 18 months, I've been working with a former university basketball coach (Joe Polizzi) to improve my overall game. Fortunately, I have access to an indoor training facility. As a result, I've become a more consistent shooter (shooting above 40% mid range), have enhanced my defensive capabilities, and improved my footwork . In addition to this, I've continued strength and conditioning training sessions with a personal trainer (Paul Thomas) three times a week. I've been working with Paul for the last four years.
I believe, my commitment to high achievement in academics and my constant drive to perform and contribute in athletics, combined with strong personal values, would make me an ideal candidate for your program.
Thank-you for your consideration,
Ajit Ganatra
