I am 6’4” and 185 lb. and normally play small forward/wing on my school and club team. I am a 3-year varsity player (2 year starter) and this will be my 2nd year with my club team. Over the past year, I have played all 5 positions depending on the needs of the team. I believe this demonstrates my versatility and my knowledge of where to be on the court. I consider myself a hard worker and someone that is highly coachable, a team first player, and fully committed to the game of basketball. I enjoy the team atmosphere, bringing my teammates together and having the team feed off my play/energy during the game. Because of those attributes, I received several awards for my play this season.
As a student, I work hard in school to make sure I can reach my goals as a scholastic athlete. Academically, I have good problem solving and listening skills. I work well with others and have been commended for consistently being a positive influence on my peers. I am good at spatial relations and have excellent critical thinking skills. I currently have a 99/100 weighted GPA, and I am ranked 51/234 in my class. I plan on taking the SAT on May 5th with a goal of achieving a score of 1100+ on my SAT.
I also participate in several extracurricular activities in our community. I am a member of DECA and Key Club at our school. At the invite of our Athletic Director, I attended a leadership conference at a local college. I participate in our school’s Mini Thon activities which raises money for kids with cancer, and I have been a counselor at Northern Basketball Camp working with 2nd – 5th graders for the past 3 years.
I am looking for a school where I can continue to play basketball at the collegiate level and as a student-athlete, pursue my academic interests. I am hoping that I can find the right fit for me to realize both of those goals.
