Through out my academic and athletic career I have been faced with many challenges, everything from requiring speech therapy in grade school to being cut from my 7th grade Basketball team. I have been fortunate enough to receive guidance from many influential people like coaches, teachers, and of course my parents but also have had enough independence to figure things out on my own. Though I do not know exactly what I would like to study my ultimate goal is to take the next step in my independence, grow as a person and prepare for the next chapter of my life in college.
Coming from a relatively small community I have developed friendships with students and teammates from school and club teams but feel my most influential relationships have come from my teammates. The time, sweat and work each of us put into our craft brings us closer together and; regardless of season and game outcomes the bonds that are formed throughout the seasons are unbreakable and what I look forward most to each and every year. For me the mix of sport and academics is what I feel will prepare best for my adult life, I look forward to learning about what different institution have to offer and the varying philosophies coaches have as I decide what school will be the best fit for me and will ultimately help me become the best person I can be.
