Personal Statement

Since the second grade, I have been playing basketball, and that passion for the sport has continued throughout my life. I aspire to play on a college team and experience a new level of the sport that I enjoy so much.

Over my basketball career, I have had the opportunity to enhance my skills in the game. I have learned to utilize my shooting and defensive skills to assist my team. I lead my team by being coachable and using that ability to help my teammates. I value teamwork and try to get the team involved during the game and practices. Hard work is one of the aspects of basketball that I aim to achieve.

Throughout the year, I strive to improve my athletic skills by joining different teams and attending basketball camps and individual workouts. Every morning during the week, I lift weights. I also play on AAU teams. In high school, I also participate in track and cross country, which helps improve my athleticism.

Off the court, I volunteer at church and basketball camps for younger athletes. At school, I am part of Student Council, earn a high GPA. I have received academic letters and recognition for doing well on State testing.

To achieve my dream of playing basketball at the collegiate level, I want to find a college where I can challenge myself through academics and basketball. I hope to reach a position where I can be a leader to my teammates and classmates. I will work hard on and off the court, and I want to find the right college that can provide that opportunity.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
