I aspire to be the best in whatever I do, from the court to the classroom and everything in between. I work hard at basketball, but I realize everyone filling out this form works hard at basketball. I appreciate that others are grinding and dreaming and I want these guys on my team, and I'm putting in the effort so they'll want me on their team. My collegiate goals and aspirations are to play basketball at the college level for a school that fits me academically, athletically, and helps continue to shape me into a productive citizen of our world.
Academics is really important to me because I know I can't play ball forever. I am a diligent student and I can balance school with athletics. Because it specifically asks how I might be different than others filling out this form, I'll note that I'm a straight A student and made a 34 on my ACT. I also have made time to invest in my community and my church. I attend church weekly and a group of pals from church and I recently went through a tedious process of leasing an abandoned swim pool that had been a fixture in our community for decades. We fixed it up, made repairs, got permits and licenses and lifeguard certifications and insurance and a hundred other little details. This summer we have successfully opened the Lubbock Seahorse Swimpool and the community has welcomed us with open arms just as we have been excited to get Lubbock swimming again at Seahorse. This may not relate directly to basketball, but it sure has been a lesson in diligence and detail and I think that relates to the game.
