During my childhood I always loved basketball, whether it was playing in games or just shooting around with my parents. I had always enjoyed it my whole life. But I would say my true passion for basketball started in 7th grade when I started noticing many players from my hometown of Middleton, Wisconsin going on to play college basketball. I also saw how hard they had worked to get to that point and decided that I wanted to achieve that goal too. I am a 6'4" guard who has the ability to handle the ball and spread the floor with outside shooting. I am able to consistently get to the rim on taller slower defenders but can also pull up for mid-range jump shots and floater if I am unable to get all the way to the rim. I also can play off the ball and am able to run off screens into three point shots or spot up on the perimeter and extend the defense which opens up gaps for my teammates. On the defensive end of the ball I am able to sit in gaps and disrupt drives and passes by being in position and staying active.
Throughout my experiences in the game of basketball I have learned how to keep a steady head and remain under control in stressful situations. Basketball has also taught me how to push through adversity on and off the court, whether there is a class I am struggling to understand or the referees aren't making all of the calls I have learned to brush it off and keep going. In school I currently have a 3.7 GPA and have taken and am taking honors and AP courses. I have also been on honor roll since 6th grade. Throughout college I am going to keep up on my academics as basketball is only temporary but knowledge and experiences that I learn through the classroom will benefit me for the rest of my life.
