Dear coaches,
Ever since I could remember I spent my days in hockey rinks, either watching my brother play, or expanding my own game through practices, games, ect... always striving to get better. I started by playing for a local AA team, but after wanting to develop a more competitive hockey experience I got the opportunity to play for the 14u Madison Capitols AAA girls team at the age of 11. It opened my eyes to a whole new hockey world. Seeing our older players putting in countless hours of work, I got a new perspective on what it was going to take to compete in AAA hockey, and college hockey.
Throughout my hockey career with the Madison Capitols we have worked hard to achieve two state titles, one central districts title, and had the opportunity to attend the 2018 USA Hockey/Chipotle Girls Nationals. My hard work was rewarded when I was given the position of co-captain, scored the game winner in the 2019 playoffs for state (TW vs Caps 5-4) plus 2 assists as well as the winning goal at Central Districts (STL vs Caps 1-0). Being co-captain has taught me to be a strong leader which is why I would like to earn this position again for my upcoming season. I hope to follow up with more titles this season with my 16u Madison Capitols team.
Playing college hockey has a dream of mine ever since I felt the rush of playing competitive hockey, which is why I want to keep playing while I continue my education. My education is equally as important as hockey is to me, which is why I try my best to excel at school. Throughout my school years I have been on honor roll and maintained a 4.0 GPA. What sets me apart from others is my work ethic, and time management that I have strongly developed over time from balancing competitive hockey and school work. I believe these skills make me a strong contender to participate in college hockey.
I attended 2018 and 2019 Central Districts Development Camp and hope to do so again next year because it has furthered my hockey skills and knowledge. My upcoming tournaments with the Madison Capitols in the 16u AAA division include Stoney Creek, Detroit Two Nations, CCMNIT, STX Windy City, Chicago Mission Showcase, East Coast Wizards (Bean Town), and CAN AM Madison.
