Hi, my name is Ben,
Thanks for looking at my profile.
People say I was born to be a golfer. When I was three, I started watching my dad's Al Geiberger, Bobby Jones, and Jack Nicklaus videos. I would disappear and my parents would find me hiding in their room using their VCR. To me, golf videos were better than cartoons.
My first trip to Pinehurst for the US Kids World Golf Championships was when I was 6. I got 20th in a field 120.
Even though I'm supposed to be 6'2" and I'm up to 5'9" now, I was always really small compared to the kids I played in Junior Golf. I wished I had their size for so long. But now I see my small size helped me in the long run. I was shorter off the tee so I had to hit fairway woods, hybrids and long irons well to win, so I learned to. I had to be good around the greens too. My dad always said "pound for pound" I was the longest off the tee now. The big kids didn't work on their long clubs. They had driver, SW into Par 4's and could reach the Par 5's in 2. But as the yardages got longer their ball striking from 150-250 yards was not as good as mine. When I grew and got longer, I passed the big kids up.
My JGS rankings are pretty good. 9th in the nation for Class of 2020, 1st in Arizona for all years. 59 in the Nation for all years.
As far as school goes, I work hard on my grades. I have a 4.00 GPA througj sophomore year. I plan to study business or law in college. I hope to play for coaches that will push me and help develop me to realize my dream of playing on the PGA Tour.
Thank you. I hope you will consider me for your 2020 class.
