Hi! I’m Dylan and am a junior at Villa Park High School in Villa Park, California. I started playing golf around the age of 13 but this past year I have really become serious about wanting to compete in college. I love both playing and watching the sport, and know that the opportunity to play golf in college would be an invaluable experience.
I have worked hard without any formal coaching to develop my technical skills, such as figuring out strategy, establishing my swing, and refining my short game. I’ve been a member of my high school varsity golf team since my freshman year, and am a current co-captain. I also play on my high school’s varsity ice hockey team so, as a two-sport athlete, it’s important for me to get instruction and feedback from my coaches, which helps me be a more coachable and adaptable athlete.
I compete in different junior golf tours, including SCPGA and AJGA events. I also have two part-time jobs. One is at the local driving range, so I can be around golf as much as possible and people who play. I also work as a Little League field crew manager and umpire. In the classroom, I have a strong GPA and am a member of the National Honor Society. I’m also a four-time Scholar Athlete and Honor Roll recipient. I volunteer my time to the Antlers youth organization through the Orange Elks Lodge, as well as at the Community Foundation of Orange’s Field of Valor event every November. I hope to find a college that is the right fit for me so I can continue to develop my golf skills and prepare myself for a successful future.
