Melody Nguyen '21 Recruiting Profile

I’m going to be honest, I enjoy golf for my team.  They’re the reason I play, if it weren’t for them I wouldn’t be here.  Being with them makes every hardship worth it.  I’ve played many sports over the years but golf is the one sport you can bond with your team for hours on end. After all, in one game you’re stuck with them for over 4 hours. How can you not form great bonds?  Acedemically I don’t think I’m bad but I’m not a genius, I have to try for my grades, which is sometimes a struggle when u get home at 7pm during the season.  I’m also not a genius at golf, but I try my hardest, practice, and have fun out there on the course, making me a team player.  I live and die with the team even if it’s an individual sport, after all, even if you’re playing alone, you will always have others by your side.  A team’s support and encouragement can and may change how you feel about golf for the rest of your life as it had done for me.
