Sameer Hameed '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sameer Hameed.  I am a senior at Peachtree Ridge High School (PRHS) in Duluth, Georgia.  I’m a dedicated student with a 4.0 GPA and a 35 on the ACT. I am a passionate golfer and want to continue the sport in my college years. I received the Lion Award at PRHS, which is presented to the best athlete in their sport with the highest academic achievement.  I have been on the team since my sophomore year and made Varsity in my junior year. I am excited to be captain of the PRHS golf team this year as a senior.  

Being from a golf family, I have been involved with the sport since I was a kid.  However, I dedicated myself to the game as a freshman after visiting Augusta National for a Saturday round of The Masters.  I have greatly improved my game in the last year by at least 7 strokes to an 8 handicap. As a disciplined athlete, my goal is to practice hard and shoot an even round soon.  

Due to family and personal preferences, I would like to attend a northeastern, midwest, or mid-Atlantic school with no specific size or location. The majors I am most inclined to pursue are Finance and Engineering, with the possibility of studying both. A school offering both these programs is important to me.  

Overall, my goal is to be challenged in the game of golf at the college level and achieve the highest academic excellence. My calm and collective nature conceals my burning desire to compete and experience the highs and lows of golf.  I am eager to play with my teammates representing the golf team of my university. I am confident that I will make my team and my school proud for the next four years in this game I love.
