I am a very focused individual and work hard at school. I carry a 4.0 average. My goal for high school is to graduate top 2 in my class. I see myself studying biology or pre med in college with hopes of one day becoming a Physician Assistant.
I began playing golf because my dad always wanted my sister to play, but as I played more often I fell in love with it. I love the fact that there is never an excuse for failure because it is a one person sport. Even in matches or tournaments you are competing with yourself to have the best possible round because you can’t control another player‘s score, you can only control your own. Golf is therapy for me, and despite it being a frustrating sport (something we all know), it takes my mind off of stressful or sad things, like tests or a relative passing away.
I‘ve learned so much while golfing. The most important thing is to never give up. If you have one bad day, are you going to let it ruin the next seventeen days? The answer is a definite ”No”. It is the same thing with golf, if I have a bad hole, I can’t let it distract me from being successful on the remaining holes. This is very important because I used to be very anxious in school and always worrying about getting a grade below 80%, but golf has taught me that there will always be mistakes, but how you recover is the most important part.
I hold my grades and character to a very high standard, I always strive to be the best possible person I can be, whether it is in school, at work, on the course, or in public. It is not uncommon for me to stay after class in order to finish something, ask questions, or help others. Being successful myself, and helping others succeed is very important to me. I am the same way on the golf course; after a tournament or match that I performed poorly in, I will go to a range and hit golf balls for hours working at what I did wrong. I will text my coaches and ask for help or for an individual lesson. Overall I find there is always room for improvement, especially in school and golf.
