Jaydon Dietz '23 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a sophomore at New York Mills Jr./Sr. High School in Upstate New York. I started playing golf when I was 5 years old, but I have had a golf club in my hand since I was 2 years old. Golf has been a huge part of my life since I was very young as my father, uncles, and grandmother also play golf. My earliest memories are of going golfing with my family, riding in the golf cart, and once in a while they would let me hit a few balls. I grew up playing golf with my family, and still continue to play golf with them now.

 I made the Varsity golf team in 7^th grade. That year, I earned the achievement of MVP, and CSC All-Star. In 8^th grade, I earned the achievement of MVP, CSC All-Star, as well as being 2^nd in my CSC division. I worked hard and accomplished my goal that year. I qualified for Sectionals which was held at the Yahnundasis Golf Club, and then from there I qualified for States which was held at Colgate University. I have been Captain of the Varsity golf team since 7^th grade. Unfortunately, I didn’t compete in 9^th grade as the season was cancelled due COVID-19, so I’m really looking forward to my upcoming golf season this year. My dream is to continue to play golf in college.

 Academically, I do well in school. This school year has been a little different due to COVID-19. I have a hybrid schedule, and have been attending school in person 2 days a week and virtual 3 days a week. So far this year, I have been able to maintain an overall average of 93. In regards to college, I haven’t decided on a definite major, but I’m interested in Business. I have been researching colleges that have a Sports Management Program, as well as a golf team. I’m hoping to continue to improve my golf skills throughout the rest of my high school years, as well as in college.
