I started playing golf at the age of 6 years old through inspiration from my older brother Xavier. My brother would mess around with our uncle's old golf clubs in the backyard and this sparked my interest. I began taking the game seriously at 9 years old, and started improving drastically. I won my first individual Junior Tournament I had ever competed in. Averaging a 75.5 in 2023 tournaments, I make it a priority to work hard in order to better myself at this challenging game every day. Improvement towards my golf game is very important to me. I continue to seek opportunities to improve my game.
Outside of golf, I enjoy working hard on my strength and cardiorespiratory endurance, as I workout/run 5-7 times a week. I joined my school's Cross Country Team during my Sophomore year, as a way to challenge myself. Having never run cross country, or previously taking my endurance seriously, cross country was humbling but also rewarding, as I ran my best time in a 5k race in 21:52. Although I am motivated by golf and my physical condition, my academics are important to me and my family as well. By studying hard in school, I make sure to stay on top of my school assignments. During my free time, I am always doing something golf related, working out, or simply spending time with my family.
In the future, I am interested in playing Division I or Division II golf in college. Ideally, I want to continue to improve and pursue professional golf.
