I am currently enrolled in dual credit classes through The Southwest Texas Junior College and by the time I graduate from Knippa High School in 2021 I will have my Associate of Arts degree. I have taken a total of six dual credit classes so far in my freshman and sophomore year which include Biology-1108, Biology-1109, Biology-1308, Biology-1309, Art-1301, and Math-1314. This year I am taking four more dual credit classes which are English-1301, History-1301, Math-1316, and Business-1307. I got an invitation and am now an member of NSHSS or the National Society of High School Scholars. I have been playing golf for 10 years and can get down into the high seventies, but my average is around an eighty-five. I have played golf for Knippa every year of my high school career and have been the number one golfer and team captain both years. My Freshman year of High School I placed second out of forty in our district tournament at Alsatian Golf Club in Castroville, Texas and advanced to regionals. In the regional tournament at Blackhawk Country Club in Austin, Texas I ended up getting fourth place out of seventy and missed state by two shots. My Sophomore year I came back and was determined to make it to State. At the district tournament I placed second and advanced to regionals for the second time in two years. At the regional tournament I ended up tied for third and had to play in a sudden death playoff. It was a great experience and a big pressure moment for me. In the end I won the playoff by three strokes and ended up moving on to State! At the State tournament, which is at Lions Municiple Golf Club in Austin, Texas, I placed eleventh out of eighty-five.
I live at home with my mom, step father, and half sister on my grandparents ranch where both of my parents work. I thank them for everything that has happened in my life. If it weren't for my family I wouldn't be in the position I am today. All of the days asking to go practice or asking for new training aids was all from my family. They have been there for me since day one and have always supported me and my dreams. My mom and I moved out to the ranch when I was five years old and it is definitely my absolute favorite place to be besides the golf course. On the ranch we raise cattle. We also have 5 horses and an abundance of wildlife. Some of the wildlife that we have are whitetail deer, axis, fallow, javelina, feral hogs, dove, quail, and turkey. During the summer I usually work on the ranch to try and help my step father and uncle with bailing hay that we sell to other local farmers. When we aren't working, we are either hunting (during season) or just riding around the ranch.
Throughout my life I have been taught to treat others with the upmost respect. For example, yes ma'am, no ma'am, yes sir, and no sir are a MUST in my family. Family is very important to me. We still eat around the dinner table every night as a family and my favorite family day is on Sundays. We always get up and start our day watching Community Bible Church on TV. After church we all get geared up in our football best and root for our Minnesota Vikings! I am very competitive and always strive to be the best I possibly can each and everyday!
