Playing college golf at the division 1 level has always been my number one goal. I am currently a junior at Saint George's School in Spokane Washington and participate in a college prep, international baccalaureate (IB) program that is not only challenging but also inspiring. I have been a starter on my high school golf team since the 8th grade and have only improved since then. Starting in my 8th grade season I averaged a tournament score of 111. Then I started practicing more and more with the help of my coach, Kathy Gildersleeve-Jensen, who was the 2014 PGA National Teacher of the Year. Then in 1 year I went from 111 average to a 91 average my freshman season. I wanted more, the improvement only fueled my desire to practice more and more. Taking no days off, I started practicing 7 days a week and taking more lessons with my coach. I continued my progress, averaging 81 my sophomore year. This year I plan to shoot mid-to low 70's, maybe even a few rounds in the 60's later in the season. I couldn't have done this without my families support along the way. I am very grateful to them for that. Golf is an amazing game that I hope to continue at the highest level in college.
