2018 Highlights Personal Statement
I am an 18 year old, 6’ -0" 180 lb center/right wing from Fairbanks, Alaska. I graduated from high school in May, 2019 and will be taking a gap year to pursue junior hockey. I have participated in numerous US and International tournaments including Arctic Winter Games and the National Hockey Championships at tier II and I levels. In previous years, I have been selected as a captain on many of my teams which allowed me to advance my leadership skills. I excel in my studies at school and graduated summa cum laude ranked #1 in my class with 4.15 GPA.
I’ve been playing hockey since age 5. I love hockey because there is no other sport with the speed of play, skill level and strategy like it. I am always looking to take my hockey game to the next level to help my team while pursuing the highest level of competition possible. I am a skilled puck mover and play to set up my teammates but ultimately take pucks to the net. I like to contribute in all three zones of the ice. I work hard on and off the ice and am looking for a team where I can make an impact. My intention is to pursue college education and I would love to have an opportunity to continue playing hockey in college and help my team any way I can.
