Personal Statement

I work hard and want to learn. My goal is to play juniors and earn a college scholarship. I won't stop until I make it. I excel at soccer and run track. I love all sports, but hockey is my passion.

I live in a small town where hockey is relatively new, and now we are producing lots of talent. My dad played hockey his whole life and introduced me at a young age. Winning state, having two undefeated seasons, 13 tournament championships, have been the highlights of my young career. I will never forget scoring a hat-trick in the championship game at State.

For the 2016-17, we decided to stay here in Homer, AK and play AA hockey. The talent that our small community is putting out allows that. Our closest opponent is in Anchorage, 4.5 hours away. I wanted to play high school in my hometown for my freshman year,  before potentially venturing on.

This year, 2017-18, we have a new coaching staff. Coach Rockett came back from the east coast to coach this group of boys at the U18 level and high school. I was excited and turned down junior offers to stay home. My dad Steve, will be an assistant coach. The boys are excited of the program they want to implement to help further guide us through the different ranks hockey has to offer.

2018-19 season, again new coaching staff as our previous coach left. My dad, Steve has taken over and is coaching the U18 and high school team I play on.  He has changed direction with a different squad this year. More hard nose, dump and chase below the goal line style. I have changed back to defense this year as we are in need of a puck moving defenseman. I QB the power play on both teams. Been challenging but has turned me into more of a two way forward as I found a new respect for defenseman.
