I am passionate about hockey. My mom and dad took me to my first NHL game when I was three years old – I have a picture of my mom holding me up to Brett Hull as he signed my mini-jersey, as Tyson Nash looked on. They tell me a story about how during the game, I threw a fit trying to get down to the ice to get out and play. From that day on I have loved the game of hockey.
I started skating that same year at the age of 3, and started playing hockey at the age of 5 at Arizona Ice (AZ Ice) in Peoria, Arizona. AZ Ice was the home of Arizona Runners, and is still home to the Arizona Red Hawks (WSHL - Junior A – Tier II ) and Mission Hockey Arizona Travel Hockey Club. My first travel team was with Arizona Runners – Coach Mike Flannigan was the head coach who inspired me to learn about hockey at an early age and taught me the fundamentals. Arizona Runners later merged with Mission, and I skated for Jeremy Goltz for two years, later moving on to the Jr. Coyotes. I have been playing for Dave Wilcoxson since 2015 on the 2003 AA team. Coach Dave has been a great influence to me and I have learned so much about hockey, being a teammate and good person.
One of my favorite hockey memories is skating at Magness Arena in Denver Colorado during the Jim Montgomery Jr. Pioneers summer hockey camp. It was great because many of the players were coaching and I was able to meet many other kids from different States. My second favorite memory is winning the MLK tournament as a Squirt with the Arizona Runners – going undefeated and taking home a huge trophy. My third favorite memory is winning Inline Hockey Association of Arizona, All State Offensive Player. I played inline hockey for three years which really helped my conditioning and offensive play.
I work hard all of the time and try to lead by example. I came back in 6-weeks after a broken ankle during practice and still was an impact player that season. This year I developed into one of the top five scoring forwards on the team. I can play all positions and try to motivate my team members.
My goal is to play in college and make an impact. My strengths are:
What my coaches and teammates say about me:
They trust me, I don’t give up, and I don’t gripe
In my free time – I really enjoy snowboarding in Colorado and Snowbowl Arizona. I like playing video games and watching hockey on TV. I love my dogs, my family and hockey!
