My love for the sport began when I was five years old playing roller hockey. I played the position of goalie in roller hockey for four years and ended as the best goalie in the state of Colorado. At the age of 9, I made the switch to Ice Hockey. Since making the switch to Ice Hockey I have focused on growing as a player and teammate. I spent my first three years playing house and worked hard to earn my spot on a competitive travel team. In addition to hockey I have played lacrosse, football, baseball and have been on a competitive swim team. I have been fortunate to be a part of teams in each of those sports that have won championships. My passion is with hockey and my goal is to play at a collegiate level.
I believe I am the best fit for your team because I am the hardest working player you will ever meet. I understand the importance of continuous work and improvement as a person and you have my commitment that I will improve every season and continue to seek feedback and coaching. As a hockey player that plays the position of goaltending I understand that it is a mental sport as well as a physical sport. On the ice you will see me impacting the mental aspect of the game as well as the physical aspect. I believe in hockey IQ and that I need to understand the game beyond my position. I talk to players throughout the game and tell them where to go, I have the ability to recognize plays and when scored on to let it go and focus on getting it back. Additionally, I know what it takes to succeed at a more competitive level which is why it is important to me that I volunteer to give back to the sport that has given me so much. For the last 4 years, I have spent time coaching the house goalies so they can have the same opportunities to develop their skills and abilities.
Off the ice, I take as much pride in my school work as I do my on the ice. I was accepted into the International Baccalaureate program, a rigorous academic diploma with a global and cultural emphasis. I have received several academic and leadership awards while attending Cherokee Trail High School. In addition, I believe in giving back to the community and you will have my commitment that my community service will continue on your team.
If selected for your program you will have gained an athlete that has a love for the sport, a strong student, a leader and a helping hand to the community.
