As an athlete and aspiring accounting major, I believe I possess determination and leadership qualities. With passion needed to be proficient both on the ice and in the classroom. Since a young age, I have found great joy and fulfillment in the realm of competition. As a two-sport athlete in both hockey and lacrosse, I have learned valuable lessons that extend into other aspects of my life. The challenges, triumphs, defeats, and camaraderie experienced in these sports have shaped me into the person I am today, and I am jubilant to continue this growth throughout my career and potentially into a collegiate athletic career. Pursuing hockey and lacrosse has taught me the importance of discipline, perseverance, and teamwork. The schedules I have faced are quite demanding and the physical demands have instilled in me a strong work ethic, time management skills, and the ability to stay composed under pressure. Whether it is maintaining focus during a match or managing my time effectively for both academics and athletics, these experiences have heightened my ability to thrive in high-pressure situations while maintaining my academic performance. Beyond the realm of sports, I have become interested in the world of finances and specifically want to go into the field of accounting. The meticulous nature of accounting meshes well with my analytical mindset. I am fascinated by the role of accounting in providing a clear understanding of financial information and its implications for decision-making. Pursuing a major in accounting will not only allow me to have an extra skill during my journey through the world of economics but also provide a solid foundation for my future career aspirations in the financial sector. Moreover, I am eager to strengthen my leadership skills during my collegiate journey. As a multi-sport athlete, I will be entrusted with some sort of a leadership position, not yet serving as a captain but serving as a mentor to my younger teammates. These experiences have taught me the great importance of communication, empathy, and inspiring others to reach their full potential, benefiting both me and the team as a whole. I am committed to becoming a role model both on and off the ice, leading by example and positively influencing my teammates, colleagues, and the great community that I am grateful to be a part of.
